Fun Family Portrait Session in a Schoolyard!

It’s not every day that I’m asked if I will do a family portrait session in a schoolyard! That’s exactly what this mom wanted though, so I was determined to get lots of fun images of her gorgeous girls. We made the most of every part of that schoolyard, and hopefully, it was the most fun the girls have ever had there ;)

This is why I like to photograph outdoors as much as possible. And it’s not just because I love the great outdoors ;) Everyone is relaxed and you can usually get lots of variety. It’s a win-win!

Valuing Family Portraits

Some people just really and truly value their family portraits. And by that I mean, every couple of years they book a portrait session. They understand that when you have a growing family, things change very quickly. The kids often seem to grow overnight, they change their hair, their expressions change, and sometimes there’s a new family member. Whatever it may be, change is guaranteed when you have a family.

I’m very fortunate to have so many repeat clients. Families who regularly book family portrait sessions, sometimes multiple times a year. These fast-paced family years go by SO fast. Isn’t it a beautiful thing to have printed photographs of these times that will someday be a distant memory?

This gorgeous, happy-go-lucky family and I hung out by the water one warm summer evening and created some beautiful memories. I love that they brought their little pooch :) He’s definitely not afraid of connecting with the camera! ;)

Holiday Photo Session in Stockholm

It was such an honour to photograph this happy-go-lucky family who travelled all the way to Sweden from British Columbia. When we met it honestly felt like we’d always known each other. Don’t you just love that feeling? We had such a fun and relaxed session, I really didn’t want it to end! Stockholm is SUCH a pretty backdrop to portraits, don’t you think?

Beautiful Family Portrait Session in Sollentuna

For different reasons, we had to postpone this beautiful family portrait session in Sollentuna a couple of times. We got there in the end though and it was absolutely worth the wait! Everything came together in the way that things tend to when they are written in the stars :)

Not only did this family love all their images from this session, but they very thoughtfully purchased extra images to send to grandparents who live abroad. Knowing how much my parents love to receive images of their grandchildren, I can only imagine how much the grandparents of these gorgeous kids loved their gifted portraits.

Like I always say, portraits are the gifts that keep on giving!
