Not all shoots are created equally. With some shoots I have to use every trick in the book (you need quite a few when photographing kids!), with other shoots the fun and joviality unfolds naturally right in front of me and all I have to do is click the shutter. This was one such shoot. Easy peasy. Not only were the laid-back parents happy to hang back and entrust me with their children, but these two gorgeous sisters were just SO. FULL. OF. LIFE! Their energy and enthusiam was so infectious, I found myself skipping all the way back to the car-park hand in hand with the youngest sister! When she turned to me and asked me if I was a teenager, I think my smile could have been seen from space :)
Sandra Jolly Photography is back!
I'm offically back in the office today after a couple weeks' holiday! I say 'holiday', but what I really mean is I had a big learning curve in separating business time from family time. Photographers need holidays, too, you know ;). I now realise I need to plan my time off well in advance and then switch off my computer and close the office door once my kids are on holiday. It's definitely not easy balancing family life with running a business, but I do my best. That is until my computer dies five days into my holidays and we have to hire an expert to drill holes in the walls and install a brand new system. A tired two year old at a photo session, I can handle, but a technical crisis right before the next busy season begins is enough to push me over the edge! Let's just say, chocolate consumption went WAY up in the Jolly house-hold the last couple weeks! There's still a few glitches in the new system, but for the most part I'm up and running. I look forward to sharing lots of new pictures with you in the coming weeks, but for now I'll leave you with a recent favourite moody black and white :)

Tanned skin, bare feet, ice-creams, flowers in the hair, gorgeous light - welcome to the Swedish summer :)
Seven super-cute cousins in Vaxholm | Part I
"We want a picture of all seven cousins together to give to their grandmother as a gift for her 70th birthday," they told me. When my assistant (a.k.a my lovely hubby) and I rolled up to the location in Vaxholm, the two moms were very nervous! They were worried about how the kids would behave and if they'd even sit still for one picture. I told the moms they should go and have some wine and leave the photography bit to me ;). I took a lot of pictures on that glorious, sunny evening and I LOVE them all. In fact, I think it's best I split this post into two parts. These cousins were totally adorable and I think Grandma is going to treasure the enlargement she's going to get for her birthday!
