Autumn Family Portrait Session

I was so happy when this mom got in touch to book an autumn family portrait session! I had photographed them a few years previously, and since then they’d had another addition to the family. I also recalled the fun energy of the family and the fact that the mom never complained about anything, and was so appreciative of my time and work. All these factors combined made me so excited to meet and photograph the family again! :)

Sure enough, they had the same great energy, and the kids were so sweet and charming. I suggested a location north of Stockholm, and we just happened to get one of the last days of the glorious autumnal colours! Just look at all the rich colours in every shot! This mom is also wonderful at choosing clothes for her family sessions. She ensures she includes layers, a complementary colour palette, and lots of textures in the clothes. All important things to think about when planning a session outfit!

Beautiful Autumn Portraits in Stockholm

These portraits were created a couple of days into November, so we were fortunate to capture the last of the autumnal colours and leaves in our shots. The portrait session took place on an overcast day, approximately one hour before sunset. Although I would have loved some yummy, golden light, I still loved the light on this afternoon, which was soft, diffused, and flattering to the skin.

Vacation in Stockholm Photo Session

Greetings! There’s been a growing trend these past few years where people on vacation will often book a local photograher for a portrait session in the area they are visiting. I’ve been honoured to do many of these ‘Vacation in Stockholm Photo Sessions’ :)

A couple of months back, a sweet grandpa from Chicago booked me for an extended family portrait session in Gamla Stan, Stockholm. There would be a family reunion involving grandparents, their adult children, and, of course, several cute grandkids. We met as early as we could on the first windless day in Stockholm in months! We explored the charming and relatively quiet Old Town before it was overrun with tourists.

We walked, talked, and created beautiful family memories. Afterwards, I sent the grandma her gallery of images, and she was delighted! How nice it will be for this family to have all these (non-selfie) family portraits for many years to come!

Male Portrait Session in Stockholm

Greetings! Yikes, I’ve fallen waaaay behind with blogging for some unknown reason! I’ve decided to not just blog family sessions here. I am also going to blog as many individual portrait sessions as I have permission to. This male portrait session was shot back in spring in Stockholm. My client invited me to his home to shoot various style portraits: headshots and casual. He changed outfits several times to achieve different looks, we took some images outside, and all in all, had a lot of fun on this portrait session :)

He wanted to purchase ALL the images afterwards and sent me a super sweet message to say:

"Wow! Thank you very much, Sandra! Many beautiful images. Some show, it looks part of me (my soul), that I feel I have barely seen before. It feels like in some of them I have such a youthful (kid-like) spirit, while others feel very wise, and yet others are certainly very young adult-like, also daring.”

For someone who puts 100% heart and soul into all their work, it is so great to receive a comment like this after a portrait session!
